IBC Base Ring

The base ring seems a simple component, but it is the result of a multi-stage processes designed to meet mandatory UN certification standards. Production begins with a pre-galvanized steel coil. Through a sequence of die-cutting, tube shaping, vertical welding, flattening, bending, and punching, the raw steel is transformed into a robust loop. This measured fabrication ensures that the finished ring is perfectly sized for integration on customers' pallet welding equipment, where it is welded to the center bridge and five spacers to create a pallet frame.

While the ring maintains a 22mm diameter round radius profile for strength, the most innovative aspects of this IBC steel pipe is the eight precision-flattened zones. These zones are placed to maximize land contact. By smashing parts of the IBC steel pipe from round profile into flatten surfaces at selected areas, the design prevents rolling and ensures stability.

To accommodate the different perimeter measurements of the IBC steel cage, the pre-bended base ring is available in two sizes: one designed for square-shaped IBC frameworks and another for round-shaped frameworks. This versatility facilitates stacking of different IBC models. Furthermore, the component features a pre-punctured M8 self-tapping screw draw for assembly efficiency. This detail allows seamless installation of the IBC base plate at the drip-pan.

To increase durability, the IBC base ring is constructed with a metal thickness of 1.5mm, and a diameter of 22mm. This is the thickest and the largest pipe when compared to all other pipes in the steel frame system. To combat corrosion from chemical environments and humidity, the steel is coated with an 80 g/m² galvanizing layer. This protection layer ensures that the foundation of the IBC remains rust-free hence keeping its robust structure throughout its service life.
