IBC Steel Tie Bar

Manufacturing these IBC steel tie bars is a multi-stage process. Starting with a coil of galvanized steel, the material first undergoes die-cutting to form a flat silhouette. This is then formed into a tubular shape through the tube making equipment, where its seam is simultaneously enclosed by welding. Subsequent automated fabrication steps include bending to achieve the correct profile, followed by stamping and punching the blank tube. These latter steps create the essential hook-like ends and the precisely positioned holes necessary for assembly.

During final assembly, after the inner plastic tote is positioned within the steel cage, these two steel bars are installed as the pivotal last step to safeguard the tote and tighten the entire steel framework. Each 970mm long, the bars are threaded through two rims on the top of the plastic tote. Their hooked ends then engage and lock securely onto the underlying P-shaped top horizontal steel pipe of the frame. The two bars are placed equidistant from each other across the top middle section of the IBC, effectively locking through four vertical pipes and the top horizontal pipe. This internal engagement is reinforced externally by four dedicated IBC steel tie bar brackets-each sized at 39mm by 37mm-which are fastened outside the P-shape pipe to the bars inside the cage.

The steel is formed using a metal thickness of 1.0mm. Built to withstand the stacking of four empty IBCs. Recognizing IBC containers are often stored outdoors and used in chemical environments. We apply the premium industry standard zinc coating at a minimum of 80 grams of zinc per square meter.
