Crescent-shaped Pipe

These five horizontal members are known as IBC crescent-shaped pipes. Their defining characteristic, the crescent or arched profile is a masterstroke of functional design. This shape ingeniously creates two long, parallel, and perfectly flat edge lines along the length of the pipe. These linear surfaces are the designated welding points of all twenty vertical tubes. This design ensures weld quality and make certain all weld points are tight and secure.

Manufacturing these pivotal pipes is several processes. First the metal sheet is galvanized by a zinc coating of 80 grams per square meter, for corrosion resistance. Then the fabrication from flat steel to a finished crescent-shaped pipe involves several in-line steps. It starts with die-cutting to blank the steel, followed by precision tube shaping where the metal is rolled into its distinctive arched form. Advanced seam welding then creates a continuous, strong tube. The result is a finished product that arrives at the assembly line perfectly formed and ready for immediate integration with automated IBC frame welding equipment.

Standardized at 4230mm in length with an 18mm diameter, these crescent-shaped pipes are designed for compatibility with most IBC models. Keep in mind the length can always be customized for your distinctive IBC model. A key part to finish the steel pipe is the process of "end shrinking," where the diameter of the pipe ends is slightly reduced. This allows the clinching machine to clip the square cage together after its bend. While many contemporary assembly lines have this capability built-in, it is a service that can be performed beforehand if the client's production setup requires.
